Acupuncture restores balance in the body, enabling comfort and ease in all aspects of life.   My passion is to work with my patients natural healing abilities to create a life where  they can be truly happy and live in wellness, unique to them in all the world. My practice is called Soul Garden Acupuncture because that’s what my healing approach feels like.  Just as a gardener pulls obstructing weeds, tends the soil, plants new seeds, and watches each seed bloom into the flower it is meant to be, so as I do with my patients.   Together, we move obstructions from the physical, mental and spiritual parts of life, plant new ideas and lifestyle changes to make the path to wellness more direct, and watch the mystery unfold. It is my highest goal to provide a safe space for healing; a place for people to come as they are and be accepted no matter what. I use acupuncture and other Chinese healing modalities to help get to the root of your symptoms in order to heal more deeply, completely, and naturally.

What is Acupuncture ?

This ancient eastern medicine is based on the natural laws which govern the movement of energy in nature and in the human body. This natural life force, called qi (pronounced chee), flows through the body in channels, like rivers stemming from the oceans. We feel our best when the qi in the body is plentiful and flowing properly.  The flow of the qi, when interrupted or blocked, can cause physical symptoms like pain, as well as mental and emotional symptoms such as worry, sadness, or excessive anger and irritability.  Imagine a stream after a storm that has been blocked by a downed tree.  The water ahead of the blockage is high and overflowing, perhaps dark and muddy from churning in place.  The water below the blockage is sparse and still, perhaps drying along the banks.  Similarly, when we have an injury or a mental or emotional block, the qi in the channels is unable to flow freely just like our stream in the example above.  By moving the blockages with the needles we free up the flow of the qi so that it can naturally restore balance to the body.

Why Choose Acupuncture ?

Acupuncture has grown in popularity because it is a safe, holistic and affordable approach to the management of disease and maintenance of health.  It is a non-toxic alternative to pharmaceutical treatment in some situations, especially chronic pain.

Acupuncture is often used to: speed recovery after surgery, alleviate the side effects of medication, and provide relief from the side effects of chronic illness.

Acupuncture has been found effective for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including but not limited to: headaches, chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, insomnia, allergies, back pain, digestive disorders, joint pain, sleeping problems, infertility, and menstrual disorders.

What are the lasting effects of Acupuncture ?

Acupuncture treats the whole person, not just certain parts of the body or certain sets of symptoms.  Those who receive treatment on a regular basis report that they tend to get sick less often, recover more quickly from illness or injury, have improved energy levels, see reductions in long-term health care costs, and receive a greater sense of ease in their lives.
