We welcome all. Yoga is for “Every Body.” You must begin from where you are.

Under Brenda’s direction, The Yoga Studio at the Center for Mind Body Therapies offers a variety of classes throughout the year. Classes are small allowing for individual attention in a supportive environment.

While the benefits of yoga include increased strength and flexibility, yoga is not about developing the “perfect body.” At The Yoga Studio our teaching philosophy emphasizes the benefits of yoga as a complimentary tool to achieve a more balanced state of health and well-being.

About Brenda

Like many yoga enthusiasts, Brenda began her journey with apprehension, starting something new and unsure of what to expect. However, it was during that very first class that she had the experience of “having arrived.”

“I knew this was something I wanted to embrace,” Brenda recalls. The desire to teach came a few years later while attending Foundations of Svaroopa® Yoga taught by Swami Nirmalananda. In 2004 Brenda   earned her RYT 200 and in 2008 she became a Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher. With over 700 hours of study, Brenda is now registered with Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level. She continues to study with Master Yoga and Swamiji to bring new skills to her teaching and to deepen her practice.

Svaroopa® Yoga uses supported poses in a sequence designed to release the tensions held deep in the body leading to better posture and increased strength and flexibility. More importantly, the spinal decompression that comes from this core opening can reduce neck and back pain, relieve stress and fatigue and improve overall energy levels. Each class is structured to include poses, breath work and time for relaxation. Brenda’s classes are approachable and inclusive. All are welcome to come and experience the “bliss.”
